This is a dream role for a high-achieving, creative, independent, emotionally-intelligent, and motivated individual who wants to spearhead the human-resource efforts for a legacy business in Downtown Los Angeles.
Dear Future Human Resources Superstar,
If you’ve always been an expert communicator with strong writing skills, who is technologically inclined and emotionally intelligent, and wants to make a real impact on a business — this is the opportunity for you.
But before we tell you more, we’d like to introduce ourselves.
Who are we?
We are People’s Choice Beef Jerky, LA’s Original Beef Jerky since 1929.
Our brand is built on legacy, heritage, and tradition. We like to call ourselves “the oldest jerky company you’ve never heard of.” With a truly unique product and rich brand story, the opportunity and potential for growth is massive. All that is missing is you.
We bring the old school to the new school.
Our jerky is handcrafted in a family tradition that spans four generations and 90 years in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. A tradition built on quality ingredients and a handmade process that delivers a better-quality, better-tasting, better-for-you jerky. This is not dusty gas station junk food. This is not a trendy snack concocted for product benefits instead of flavor.
This is real food, made by real people. Small batch, artisan-quality beef jerky delivered direct to the consumer’s door. You don’t have to love the product you sell, but it most certainly helps, and our jerky is one you can get behind.
We are a family business.
We value empathy and inclusivity and live by the Golden Rule. We treat our customers, employees, and partners like family. It’s the reason we’ve become an LA institution. If you like to work with a close-knit team to achieve shared goals, this is the job for you. Passion is a part of our culture.
We may have been born in 1929, but we are young at heart.
We value integrity and have an authentic drive to improve, evolve, and change for the better. We may be a 90-year-old company, but we approach innovation and growth like a start-up. This manifests in all aspects of our business. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a legacy brand that looks to innovate, change, and grow in today’s evolving business landscape.
Skills We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who…
Who This is Not For:
Bonus Points: Loves Food, Exercise, Nutrition, Cooking - and Jerky!
Anthony Bourdain said "I think food, culture, people and landscape are all absolutely inseparable” and we couldn’t agree more. Food and people are at the heart of what we do. It starts with the product that we make and the way we tell our story.
The ideal candidate will have a real passion for travel, global flavors, food trends, cooking techniques, and the experience of making and sharing food with people.
We Hire People Not Positions
We’re a growing company with big aspirations, and we work hard (and have a LOT of fun) while making that happen. If you have what it takes as an individual — in other words, if you’re a consistent high-achiever in everything you do in life — then you'll fit in well at our company.
