Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Support Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in electric power systems, control systems, and computer hardware/software design. This role requires a deep understanding of conceptual and detailed design, as well as the ability to manage complex projects for submarine or surface ship systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects in compliance with DoD acquisition processes.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight for program management and technical initiatives.
• Oversee the integration of complex multifunctional devices.
• Define and verify interfaces between components and systems.
• Conduct assessments of component and system-level reliability, maintainability, and availability.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Assess shipboard impacts of various systems and components.
• Conduct feasibility studies and requirements allocation analyses.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate designs and implementations.
• Supervise conceptual and detailed design phases for multi-functional facilities and support systems.
• Perform cost/benefit and life cycle cost analysis.
• Provide recommendations based on cost analysis findings.
• Contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of submarine or surface ship structural configurations, machinery, and components.
• Conduct evaluations at both model and full scale.

Required Skills and Experience

• B.S. in Engineering

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Electric power generation, distribution, and conversion.
  • Control system development.
  • Computer software and hardware design and implementation.
  • Circuit analysis, magnetics, and/or fiber optics.
• Experience in conceptual and detailed design and multi-functional facilities and support systems for test and evaluation of submarine or surface ship structural configurations, machinery, and/or component designs in model and full scale.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in engineering software and tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Additional 10 years of experience with DoD acquisition processes, in DoD/Navy program management, Industry or Government technical management, or Industry or Government business management.
• Master's Degree (MS) in the field of engineering.

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
