TITLE: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE AND RECEIVABLE Specialist
LOCATION: CORPORATE
REPORTS TO: CONTROLLER
FLSA: EXEMPT POSITION
SUMMARY: The Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing the collection of receivables from outside customers, sending biweekly statements to customers, and proactively communicating internally and externally. This position will report directly to the Head of Finance and will be a hybrid of remote work as well as onsite.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Maintains a cheerful, courteous disposition and a neat, clean and professional image
• Meets weekly financial deadlines
• Processes invoices on a daily basis
• Prepares and distributes biweekly accounts receivable statements to customers
• Reviews, processes and deposits payments from customers
• Reconciles vendor statements
• Negotiates past due balances with outside vendors and customers
• Processes check runs weekly for accounts payable
• Maintains accurate accounting reports for AP and AR
• Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary
• Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
• Assists other team members as needed or when business needs dictates

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable and receivable required
• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude; Microsoft 365 (including Excel) and Google Suite, R365 and xtraChef a plus, but willing to train if necessary
• Ability to handle stress under pressure and multitask
• Ability to follow through and maintain organization
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision; self motivated and anticipate needs of company

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to be flexible with job demands and open minded when being asked to complete tasks
• Ability to travel to different locations around the Chicago area, as needed
• Hybrid remote and onsite work environment (40% onsite, 60% remote)
• Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours a day

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
