TITLE: SENIOR EVENT SALES MANAGER

RESTAURANT: One Off Hospitality Catering

REPORTS TO: Director of Catering & Events

FLSA: EXEMPT

TYPE: FULL TIME 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Event Sales Manager will be responsible for all elements of event planning including but not limited to developing new opportunities, fostering existing relationships with clientele, and coordinating event logistics. 

Requirements

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prospects new event sales leads by outbound efforts
  • Executes sales activities to achieve budgeted goals
  • Executes sales objectives, manages sales pipeline, and forecasting
  • Aggressively builds and maintains professional and active relationships as a primary lead generator
  • Negotiates with clients and achieves maximum revenue and profit potential while satisfying clients’ needs
  • Negotiates and prepares sales contracts for management teams to effectively execute events and exceed client expectations
  • Create Event Orders detailing timelines, food & beverage selections, supplier info, venue specific instructions and additional notes to ensure a successful event
  • Leverages relationships to interact with tentative or prospective clients in order to book events and meet sales targets
  • Stays ahead of competition - their new developments, services and amenities to ensure competitive knowledge and strategy are current
  • Assumes active ownership of assigned restaurants and responds to specific market needs, initiative needs and suggests any necessary actions
  • On site for walk throughs and event execution
  • Discusses, supports, and innovates key service and product differentiators on an ongoing basis
  • Performs tasks and projects that support client schedules and sales revenue achievements such as: assisting with telephone volume, walk-throughs, tastings and evening/weekend appointments if necessary
  • Ensures precise execution of group events by effectively coordinating all operating departments to deliver required services from internal partners & appropriate vendors
  • Maintains clear, open communication and timely updates with all departments in an effort to better meet the client’s needs
  • Attends BEO meetings as scheduled in the location
  • Works closely with General Manager, Chef de Cuisine, and Beverage Manager to maintain understanding and knowledge of all seasonal offerings with respect to food and beverage
  • Always maintains a positive, and team-oriented, demeanor
  • Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures 
  • Assists other team members as needed or when business needs dictates

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills) 

  • Minimum 3 years experience in event sales - large scale event sales experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • ServSafe Certification required
  • Ability to handle stress under pressure
  • Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Tripleseat or Toast preferred
  • Ability to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
  • Ability to be flexible with job demands 
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the events
  • Ability to move or handle equipment throughout the restaurant generally weighing 0-50 pounds
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
  • Ability to climb up and down stairs 
  • Ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day
