The Team You’ll Work With
The Office of Intergovernmental Affairs coordinates the City's interaction with the City, State and
Federal Legislative Affairs Offices, as well as the offices of the City Comptroller, Public Advocate and
Borough Presidents. The office keeps the Mayor and the First Deputy Mayor informed about
intergovernmental issues and is the liaison between the City and other governments, seeking to foster
constructive links between the Administration and these entities.
The Problems You’ll Solve
The Deputy Chief of Staff will report to the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and work across IGA’s
legislative units to serve as an organizer on key Mayoral initiatives and priorities.
Duties of the Deputy Chief of Staff include, but are not limited to:
agencies and offices, to oversee projects, and develop and implement strategic outreach to
elected and advocates in furtherance of Mayoral goals.
institutions relevant to Administration goals and policy initiatives, meet project goals and
timelines, and review agency and interagency work product.
preparation of correspondence and briefing memoranda, background research and information
for the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs.

Salary
The City of New York Office of the Mayor’s compensation package includes a market competitive
salary, equity for all full-time roles and exceptional benefits. Our cash compensation range for this role
is $125,000.
