We are currently seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to join our organization. In this role, you'll develop, coordinate, and facilitate credit union training classes and programs utilizing appropriate adult learning methodologies for optimal knowledge retention. You'll participate in cross functional teams and work with external vendors to support ongoing organizational initiatives. You'll work to ensure training methods are current, forward thinking, and effective by conducting, continuous needs assessments of the learner and organization, leveraging learning technology innovations, and adopting blended learning approaches to fit the needs of a diverse employee base. You'll develop curriculum and facilitate organizational training classes and programs such as new employee core courses and business communication courses. You'll determine appropriate instructional methods, materials, and assessments utilizing appropriate adult learning methodologies for optimal retention of knowledge (in-person, eLearning, etc.). You'll provide recommendations for course content changes to the Learning and Development Director and Content and Curriculum Director for approval. You'll serve as a resource to all employees for follow up support, questions, and coaching during and after completion of Learning and Development offered courses.

To thrive in this role, you should have three to five years of similar or related experience and a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Development, Adult Learning or Business Administration or related field and CPTD designation preferred. Credit Union or Financial Institution experience preferred. This position is one part facilitation and one part internal member service. This might be the role for you if you enjoy work requiring public speaking, interpersonal communication, problem solving, and multitasking.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and its integration with facilitation and curriculum development.

  • Experience in curriculum development, training program management and retention metrics.

  • Exceptionally skilled in facilitation.

  • Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, deal with sensitive information and handle problem resolution.

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers appropriately via in person, email etc.

  • Experience in multi-tasking, meeting strict deadlines, dealing with sensitive information, and problem resolution while providing exceptional service.

  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and all internal systems affiliated with the department.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and proactively communicate.
