Job Title: Billing Manager

General Description: Manages the day-to-day operations, contract enforcement activities, accounts receivable management.

Reports Directly to: COO

Essential Functions:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the billing department to ensure accuracy, chart coding and billing processes.
• Responsible for monitoring performance of all team members ensuring quality and productivity goals are consistently met.
• Updates and maintains diagnosis code master files; identifies inappropriate codes and coordinates with medical staff to ensure proper ICD9 & ICD-10 coding.
• Ensure that the goal of retaining and exceeding expectations is being performed by employees on a consistent daily basis
• Manages, assists and executes departmental functions, posting, adjustment, insurance follow-up and collections.
• Prepares and reviews metrics report to set expectations and goals for the team.
• Deliver results against a defined scope of work that includes measurable ROI, strategic innovation, and performance reporting and employee development.
• Utilize A/R reports to identify accounts that are past timely payment and distribute to team and escalate as necessary
• Coaches and monitors timely billing process to ensure satisfactory and timely functions
• Provide guidance to financial counselors and account receivable representatives in the resolution of difficult accounts. Ensure competence and continuity through effective training, motivation, coaching, development and recognition, as well as performance management as needed.
• Prepares monthly patient bills, including embryology inventory storage statements.
• Collections
• Formulates agendas and materials for in-service meetings with staff and management
• Resolves all complaints and concerns
• Performs other duties

Required Experience:

• 3- 5 years’ management experience in a medical setting
• Prior Medical Billing and Coding Experience.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree preffered
• Certification from an accredited medical and billing school preferred.
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD9 and ICD 10 codes, HCFA 1500, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, insurance benefits and appeal processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Medical billing: 3 years (Preferred)
• ICD coding: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Medical Billing Certification (Preferred)
