Title: General Manager

Location: Greater Milwaukee 

Job Summary:  The General Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving overall business operations to achieve organizational goals and profitability, combined with the company's marketability and competitiveness in the industry. This position will use creative solid leadership skills to identify the organization's future needs. This individual will come in with charisma, enthusiasm to influence and inspire others, and resilience to endure challenges and ever-changing circumstances. With creativity and confidence in their leadership style, this position will train, support, and develop key personnel to maximize potential and ensure quality performance within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage the performance of business operations of a specific business unit or location, including production, purchasing, quality, and safety
• Assist in the development and execution of general business strategies
• Measure productivity of the business unit by analyzing performance, financial, and activity reports; create and deliver reports.
• Coordinate with support departments such as human resources, finance, and sales to execute plans and improve operations
• Carry P&L responsibility
• Assist with budget preparation
• Interface with customers and vendors as needed to resolve technical issues
• Delegate authority and responsibility to key personnel to ensure operational plans are executed
• Lead and delegate process improvement projects related to productivity, quality, ergonomics, safety, and cost control in conjunction with the Quality Management system
• Assist in the development of company policy around production, quality, safety, and human resources 
• Manage key personnel; provide coaching, evaluate performance, and provide corrective action as needed
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational training and participating in industry events
• Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

• Advanced knowledge of business acumen, organizational effectiveness, operations management
• Advanced knowledge of strategic leadership and relationship management skills
• Proficient understanding of processes and technologies used in prototyping and manufacturing
• Professional knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Strong analytical skills to process data into actionable insights, approaches, and strategies
• Sound judgment when it comes to identifying problems, facilitating processes to solve problems consistent with company standards, best practices, policies, and government law 
• Substantial time management skills to boost organizational productivity and efficiency 
• Flexibility and resilience in response to constraints, failures, and adversity

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field required
• 10 years of experience in a corresponding management position required
• Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing and six sigma preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Production environment where proper PPE must be worn while working with equipment
• Manufacturing environment in which temperatures drastically change from season to season
• Working around different chemicals, including but not limited to lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints, etc.
• An environment where the following exposures exist: loud noise, bloodborne and airborne pathogens, infectious materials, fumes, toxic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, non-weather wet and humid conditions, etc.

Work Schedule/Travel:

• Monday – Friday, 45 hours/week
• 5% travel: between company facilities, vendor/customer visits, trade shows, conferences, etc.
