MILLER JOHNSON is Hiring a Human Resource Coordinator Near Grand Rapids, MI

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Coordinator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for HR and possess strong organizational and communication skills.

Duties:

  • Coordinate Human Resource and firm-sponsored employee events to enhance team member engagement including holiday parties, summer picnic, retirement and milestone anniversary celebration, staff appreciation, flu shots, wellness and other lunch and learns.
  • Coordinate recognition and acknowledgement of team member life events through the firm's Caring Network.
  • Manage the firm's e-store (apparel and other logo items) including reviewing inventory, suggesting new products, processing invoices, and ordering gift cards.
  • Provide accurate and timely guidance, support and coordination of employee leaves in compliance with FMLA and firm policy.
  • Assist in processing bi-weekly and monthly payroll; serve as a point of contact for payroll inquiries regarding pay statements, withholding and direct deposit.
  • Provide support as needed in all aspects of Human Resources (i.e. recruitment, safety, wellness, benefits, training and development, etc.).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role with similar responsibilities required; law firm or professional services setting helpful

Skills, Knowledge, and other Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Zoom with ability to learn new systems
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems
  • Excellent grammar and communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills to develop positive relationships
  • Exceptional client service, discretion, and judgment to ensure confidentiality
  • Ability to be flexible and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinker with ability to gather and evaluate data to make informed, timely decisions and provide creative solutions
  • Proactive, organized and detail-oriented to apply strategies to ensure projects are effectively prioritized and executed
  • Able to work independently, plan ahead, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, move projects forward and meet deadlines
