EPIC partners with state and school district leaders to produce rigorous and objective multi-method research with consequence that strengthens evidence-based decision-making for practice and policy in Michigan, with implications for historically disadvantaged students throughout the country.
The office assistant will be a critical member of the team, working with EPIC faculty and staff, as well as external collaborators. The office assistant will have responsibility for efficient operations of the office. We seek applicants who are excited to work in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
Specific duties for the Office Assistant include: Scheduling appointments and closely maintaining schedules for center leadership, including acting quickly with accuracy on scheduling requests and changes; Facilitating, preparing, and distributing agenda materials for meetings; Communicating effectively with appropriate grammar and correct spelling; Interfacing with internal and external contacts; Receiving visitors, fielding phone calls and emails critical to the operations of the center; Maintaining confidentiality for sensitive information and providing excellent service; Scheduling travel, accommodations, and reservations; Coordinating events including providing meeting materials and room set-up, and supporting related reimbursements and financial transactions; Completing a wide range of tasks using Spartan 365, including Teams and SharePoint, and the Microsoft Office suite, including generating and maintaining documentation of all of the center's standard operating procedures; Ordering and maintaining inventory of office supplies and ensuring office cleanliness, and other administrative/office tasks, errands and duties as assigned.
The position, which includes benefits, is a limited term 12-month 100% time position with options for annual renewal contingent upon funding renewal..
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical school or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in maintaining account ledgers, departmental operations, employment, or in performing tasks related to the area of employment; experience in word processing, editing and composing correspondence, and maintaining spreadsheets and/or databases; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience maintaining schedules for executives, directors or department chairs.
Familiarity with MSU financial and travel systems.
