Who is Senior Metal Bellows?

Senior Metal Bellows continues to refine and develop welded metal bellows technology and the integration of welded metal bellows into critical aerospace, semiconductor, medical, defense, and industrial applications. Our 115,000 square-foot manufacturing facility is conveniently located on Route 1 in Sharon, Massachusetts.

What is the Position?

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer; lead, plan, develop, implement, and coordinate all Company Human Resource responsibilities and activities. This will include but is not limited to: compliance to all labor laws and company policies, employment actions including recruitment and terminations, employee training and development, wage and salary administration, employee benefits, health and safety, employee relations, culture, and related personnel records and reports.

What are the key responsibilities?

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the entire organization to ensure compliance with all Federal and State labor laws and Company policies.
  • Ensure the placement of the most qualified internal and external candidates in support of open staffing requirements. This would include engaging with recruitment partners, overseeing the interview process, candidate assessment and selection.
  • Advise employees on matters affecting relations with the company, their job, and personal relations affecting employment. Enable, support, and encourage employee involvement in a broad spectrum of business-related activities to support a culture of continuous business improvement.
  • Advise and council management personnel in the resolution of employee performance issues with methodologies that are consistent with Company policies. This includes all employee performance matters.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze results, and share appropriate feedback with appropriate personnel.
  • Function as Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) coordinator. Maintain and implement current Affirmative Action Program. Respond promptly to alleged charges of discrimination or harassment and follow through on investigation procedures as required.
  • Recommend, develop, coordinate and evaluate technical and leadership development programs and determine their effectiveness.
  • Maintain a comprehensive level of benefit programs and provide communication and training to assist employees in understanding their benefits and in maximizing their coverage through informed choices. Continuously evaluate new benefit plan modifications and enhancements to make appropriate recommendations.
  • Administer Wage and Salary program. Ensure internal and external equity in wages/salaries paid and other forms of compensations (i.e. administer salary increase planning programs, establish annual budget for wage and salary increases), participate in wage and salary surveys, perform analysis and evaluate of survey results to assure our competitive position, and develop and update job descriptions.
  • Promote employee physical and emotional well-being with programs that comply with federal, state, and local regulations (i.e. health and safety training, monitoring workers’ compensations claims, recommending and providing preventative health and safety programs, etc.).
  • Ensure effective communication programs to maintain employee morale and productivity at maximum potential.
  • Oversee all local benefit reimbursement programs (educational reimbursement, gym membership, etc.), charitable contributions and the Gifts and Hospitality Policy.
  • Coordinate training, authorization and certification programs for the entire business and support/administrate local Learning Management System (LMS) and Corporate LMS.
  • Support Human Resources audits from Corporation and for third party certifications (e.g. AS9100, FAA, ISO14001, ISO45001, etc.).

What Education and Qualifications are needed for the job?

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • HR certifications a plus
  • 10 years years experience in senior HR leadership roles (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
  • Strong strategic thinking, project management, and decision-making skills
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship management skills, collaborative style, effective internal and external relations
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of employees and leadership
  • Strong facilitation and project management skills; detail oriented
  • Adaptability to work in a dynamic business environment
