Duties and Responsibilities

Job Summary:

As a Program Analyst supporting the CDC Division of Overdose Prevention (DOP), you will be responsible for ensuring effective external communications, virtual meeting facilitation, and administrative support for our recipients and partners. Your role will involve managing the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) States email box and newsletters, facilitating virtual meetings, moderating training sessions, recording and storing meeting materials, and handling various administrative duties to streamline operations.

Duties:

  • Manage external communications with recipients via the OD2A States email box.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of OD2A States newsletters, ensuring timely and relevant content.
  • Facilitate virtual meetings and training sessions related to OD2As initiatives.
  • Serve as a potential moderator for virtual meetings using platforms like Zoom.
  • Record and securely store meeting materials, including slides and recordings.
  • Manage distribution lists to ensure accurate and up to date recipient contact information.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, and sending meeting invitations.
Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in program analysis, project management, or related roles, with a proven track record of successful project coordination and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating meetings, coordinating schedules, and providing support to program and administrative staff.
  • Proficiency in virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and related tools.
  • Basic understanding of newsletter creation and distribution.
  • Proficiency in managing documentation, correspondence, and communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with travel coordination and administration in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public health, public administration, business administration, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in a public health or government agency.
  • Knowledge of CDC or HHS organizational structures and systems.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and provide administrative support.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage complex logistics.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment.

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
