McKinney Properties is an established owner and operator of apartment and student housing properties based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The company focusses on acquiring & repositioning or developing strategically located properties typically in dense, urban infill locations and near college campuses. The company manages the majority of its own portfolio investments and provides third-party management on a select basis. Over the company's more than 70-year history, we have owned or managed more than 7,500 apartment units and 8,500 student beds. We currently own, manage or asset manage over 1,300 conventional apartment units and over 4,100 student beds with the intent to grow both our existing portfolio and our third-party property management business.
Essential Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
General Accounting
- Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple entities
- Develops innovative and effective solutions to problems in financial analysis, reporting and forecasting through individual effort or as part of a team
- Perform monthly bank account reconciliations
- Process monthly/quarterly cash distributions to equity partners
- Communicate with offsite property management staff on accounting related issues
- Other special projects, as assigned
Qualifications
- Self-motivated
- 4-5 years of accounting experience
- Able to perform corporate accounting functions
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, as well as supervise others
- Detail oriented
- Experience with real estate accounting software a plus
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
