OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT ROLE:

• Collaborate with the Cost Accounting Manager and team to establish a standardized costing and reporting approach for all facilities.
• Conduct analysis on costing data and present potential cost-saving opportunities to management.
• Senior Cost Accountant supports in configuring financial software and business processes.
• Apply principles of cost accounting to conduct in-depth studies, providing detailed financial information beyond what general accounting systems offer.
• Under general supervision, perform moderately complex cost and financial audits, while preparing and analyzing cost and financial reports.
• Generate inter-company sales billings.
• Senior Cost Accountant possesses a comprehensive understanding of Oracle Sub-Ledger Accounting (SLA), capable of tracing erroneous transactions and making SLA adjustments as required.
• Maintain a weekly product cost roll-up for reporting product gross margins.
• Review cost models prepared by Cost Accountants.
• Analyze cost models and trends to identify potential cost savings.
• Senior Cost Accountant assists cost accountants with their weekly/monthly reporting responsibilities.
• Collaborate with IT to develop reports for the Oracle system.
• Take on a leadership role in developing cycle counts, working with auditors to define raw material requirements.
• Create meaningful inventory reports with business SMEs, encompassing cycle count adjustments, inventory by location and species, etc.
• Aid in Oracle data management for organizations and items.
• Senior Cost Accountant assists with the implementation of Oracle Warehouse Management (distribution/perpetual inventory) system.
• Provide ongoing support for software systems after go-live.
• Participate in other projects as needed, supporting cost and financial-related matters.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT ROLE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related
• 5 years cost in cost accounting/cost analysis
• Must be proficient in Excel
