Overview:
Max & Louie's New York Diner is dedicated to providing Fanatical Hospitality to the San Antonio community. We are looking for a Pastry Chef to help lead our bakery and production team in exceeding expectations for the traditional diner experience. This person should be career driven, detail oriented, and passionate about developing and leading a team.
Duties:
- Establish a high level of excellence for all pastries and baked goods
- Organize, delegate, and oversee production tasks for a team of 6 prep cooks
- Lead with high standards for labor costs, food waste, health protocols, and waste reduction
- Work closely with General Manager, Kitchen Manager, and Catering Director to ensure production is accurate to the needs of the restaurant.
Experience:
- 1-3 year of kitchen leadership
- Fluent in Spanish & English
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in the food industry
- Proficiency in baking, cooking, knife skills, and pastry techniques
- Familiarity with cake decorating is a plus
- Strong customer service skills to interact with customers when needed
- Culinary certification or relevant education is desirable
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
