The Convention Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and production of hotel functions. This is a very important role at Chicago Marriott O’Hare, you make events come to life! You will work with a team of professionals to coordinate everything from guest accommodations to event schedules, entertainment, catering, and more.

As the Convention Services Manager you must be able to juggle multiple tasks at once while managing time effectively. You will also need to deal directly with clients and vendors regularly to ensure that all parties involved are happy with the service being provided.

This position will have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

• Coordinating with the hotel staff to ensure that the setup for each event meets the requirements of the client
• Providing quality customer service to all guests, attendees, and clients
• Ensuring that all activities are on schedule so that the event runs smoothly
• Maintaining relationships with vendors who provide services for the event
• Educating all department staff members on their responsibilities for the event in a timely and efficient manner
• Overseeing clients’ event budgets and selling to meet or exceed financial projections for hotel
• Providing guest services to attendees, including answering questions about event details, registration issues, and other concerns
• Planning activities for attendees to build community and increase engagement
• Managing all food, beverage, and audiovisual needs for the event
• Detailing Event Orders and Group Resumes
• Be the liaison for hotel, client and attendees as Event Manager
• Assist with Coordinating Group Room Block
• Attend and lead internal and client meetings

This position will work closely with all hotel departments and report to the Director of Catering

• Marriott experience preferred (Ci/Ty)
• Catering Sales 2 years
• Hotel Banquets 2 years
