Job Summary:

Marek's Special Products Division in Dallas is seeking an experienced Estimating-Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects from inception to completion. This role is pivotal in managing project costs, pricing, and ensuring successful project execution. The ideal candidate will excel in building and maintaining robust relationships with both new and existing clients and vendors, and demonstrate expertise in a range of specialized construction categories.

Key Responsibilities: Business Development:

• Identify and target potential clients and projects aligned with Marek's strategic goals.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors.
• Manage customer relationships at both individual and organizational levels.
• Maintain and acquire a competitive vendor/product mix.
• Develop innovative solutions for value addition and negotiation.

Cost Estimating:

• Prioritize and assess bidding opportunities.
• Conduct comprehensive project scope assessments.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors for accurate quotes.
• Develop detailed project budgets.
• Train and mentor team members in effective estimating practices.

Project Management:

• Lead pre-job planning and coordination.
• Drive project profitability through effective scheduling, billing, and cost management.
• Manage project delivery, adhering to budget and schedule.
• Lead and mentor team members in successful project execution.
• Uphold Marek's commitment to safety.

Key Areas of Expertise:

• Window Treatments: Mecho, SWF, Lutron, Draper, Hunter Douglas.
• Custom Fabric & Metal Draperies: Kirsch, BTX, Cascade Coil, ShimmerScreen.
• Acoustic Clouds & Baffles: Turf, Zintra, Frasch, Unika Vaev.
• Specialty Ceilings: Armstrong, Nine Wood, Arktura, USG.
• Stretched-Fabric Systems: Novawall, Newmat, Clipso, Eurospan.
• Acoustic Wall Panels: Spinneybeck/FilzFelt, MBI, Lamvin.
• Visual Display Boards: Glassboards & Markerboards.
• Custom Banquette Seating: Knowledge of upholstery and subcontractor relationships.

Experience and Education:

• 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on sales, estimating, and project management.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.

Skills:

• Expertise in construction practices, estimating, and project management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction-specific software.
• Strong relationship-building, numerical, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions:

• Office-based with regular field visits and participation in industry events.

Scope and Leadership:

• Responsible for managing large, complex projects or portfolios.
• Influential within Marek and the broader industry.
