Maison Kayser USA is Hiring a Pastry Cook | Pastry Production Near Bronx, NY

Basic JobFunction: The PastryCook will continue gaining knowledge of making pastries from recipes by EricKayser while working in a state-of-the-art production site. The Pastry Cookwill be exposed to learning to produce the many kinds of French pastries anddesserts offered by Maison Kayser. Task/Responsibilities:· Garnish pastries as instructed, including but not limited topreparing and apply glazing, icings, confit, pastry cream, and mousse· Provide guidance to at least one Pastry Helper and to providefeedback for Supervisor's evaluation· Organize and manage stock in a freezer up to -4 Fahrenheit (Gearis provided)· Ensure that all products are consistently arranged, stored,labeled, dated, and rotate items stored in all pastry sections· Ensure that all perishable items are stored quickly andefficiently, thus avoiding unnecessary quantities being held within the pastryproduction areas, always ensuring complete utilization of all items withminimal wastage· Perform all necessary cleaning duties and contribute to theoverall cleanliness of the pastry production at all times and within all sections· Communicate effectively to pastry team regarding inventory,product pars, and production levels· Ensure all accidents are reported to a senior team member, such asequipment damage or injuries· Attend all briefings and meetings as required Minimum Requirements: · High School Diploma or equivalent preferred · Knowledge and experience in all aspects of the pastry production· Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time(up to 8 hours)· Availability to work shifts of 8am or 5pm· Must understand knowledge of high-quality products and bepassionate about pastries· Must be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs and must be able topush or pull up to 150lbs during the shift· Comply with and fully understand the laws and regulationsregarding food safety, health and safety using different equipment Experienceand Education:· 2 years of experience in a high-volume pastry production or similar environment or a professional degree (4 years) in pastry/baking· At least 6 months of experience with French pastry preferred
