**Pastry Helper | Pastry Production**

The Pastry Helper will gain basic knowledge of procedures and methodology by the company while working in a state-of-the-art production site. The pastry helper will be introduced to the philosophy of the company and will become familiar with the many kinds of pastries and desserts offered by Maison Kayser. In this position, we recommend that pastry helpers have a passion for baking and learning about French desserts.

**Tasks/Responsibilities:**

* Preparing quality French pastries such as financiers, madeleines, eclairs, different types of tarts and mousses etc.

* Working in various stations such as: mousse/tarts, mixing, mini pastries, and the oven room.

* Prepare baking sheets.

* Assemble pastries in a cold pastry production site (30-35 degrees Fahrenheit)

* High volume baking with a high attention to detail, maintaining an ongoing awareness of ingredients as our recipes

* Bake French pastries using various ovens.

* Handle and move ingredients, tools, and baking pans

* Help with the measuring and scaling of ingredients

* Maintain knowledge of high-quality products

* Ensure your station and equipment are in tip-top shape, always cleaning as you

* Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor.

**Minimum Requirements:**

* Must be a team player with a can-do attitude.

* Availability to work shifts of 8am to 5pm, including weekends and holidays

* Must be able to work in a standing position for long period (up to 8 hours).

* Must be physically able to do pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting 40lbs. to 150lbs.

* Adhere to food safety laws and standards while preparing products

**Education and Experience** **:**

* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

* Minimum of 6 months experience in basic baking/pastry technique in high volume production is highly desired

* The ability to read and speak English proficiently, Bilingual with French is a plus, but not mandatory
