We're seeking a line cook at Méli Wine & Mezze . Passion and / or curiosity about Greek food is a must. We’re looking for collaborative, team-players who are looking to do a little of everything from cooking to running food to prep.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duty as a line cook is to work as an integral part of our small culinary team during service. You’ll work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and the other members of the kitchen service team.
As a line cook, you will maintain and grow our culinary standards. Kitchen team members will rotate between line cook and prep, and will be cross-trained as a food runner as we all assist each other as one team during service.
Line cooks will be expected to maintain the integrity and cleanliness of our space in its setup and breakdown.
QUALIFICATIONS
Passion and knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine is helpful, and candidates should have prior experience as a line cook.
COMPENSATION
Line cooks will be paid commensurate with experience. Candidates must be available from 3pm - 12am daily.

Méli is a Greek(ish) restaurant serving mezze, wine and cocktails in a vibrant, airy space nestled within The Silva Apartments’ lobby in the Adams Morgan neighborhood.
Méli is a "club" that anyone can join by simply buying a bottle of house wine or n / a beverage for $25. The profits from this purchase is then donated by Méli to 10 community partners.
Inspired by Greek mezze cafés, our name, "Meli," means both "member" and "honey" in Greek, symbolizing the warmth and sweetness we show our guests and each other.

We add a 22% service charge to pay a higher hourly wage to our hourly team members. Commission is awarded to the hourly sales team and culinary team based on sales and hours worked.
Any gratuity added is distributed among all hourly dining room and kitchen team members who help create your dining experience.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for drinking alcohol while at work, and for sexual harassment.
