Eastern Point Collective restaurant group is seeking creative, responsible, friendly, and wine-savvy humans to join our beverage and service team at our new restaurant, Méli Wine & Mezze.
Passion and / or curiosity about Greek wine and food are a must. Bartending experience is a major plus. We’re looking for collaborative, team-players who are looking to do a little of everything from bartending to prep to food running to email marketing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Your job is to build up our spirit and bar beverage program as an integral part of our small, mission-driven team. You’ll work closely with the General Manager and the other members of the sales team to create a different type of restaurant, built on relationship-building and multi-channel sales.
Service comes first, and you must love it. As a sales team member, you will maintain and grow the standard of the inclusive hospitality we embody.
Sales team members will rotate between server, bartender, and host roles, and will be cross-trained on the floor and in the kitchen.
Sales team members will be expected to respond to guest needs, team needs, and operational needs throughout the shift, including maintaining the integrity and cleanliness of our space in its setup and breakdown.
We operate Tuesday - Saturday, evenings for now, and our small team is full-time. Relationships at Méli are built on respect for each other, and passion for our product food & wine.
Additional responsibilities will include creating and assisting with communication and events programming, contributing to our beverage program and assisting in inventory management, and building out our brand offerings as we grow.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should be organized, self-motivated, outside-the-box creative thinkers that thrive in a team-oriented, collective environment.
Friendliness is a must we operate inside a residential building, memory for names & faces is essential to building relationships with our co-tenants.
Passion and knowledge of Greek & Mediterranean wine and cuisine is necessary, and candidates should have prior experience in the wine / beverage sector, hospitality experience is a plus.
Bartending and spirit experience is required.

Méli is a Greek(ish) restaurant serving mezze, wine and cocktails in a vibrant, airy space nestled within The Silva Apartments’ lobby in the Adams Morgan neighborhood.
Méli is a "club" that anyone can join by simply buying a bottle of house wine or n / a beverage for $25. The profits from this purchase is then donated by Méli to 10 community partners.
Inspired by Greek mezze cafés, our name, "Meli," means both "member" and "honey" in Greek, symbolizing the warmth and sweetness we show our guests and each other.
We're women-owned operated, and deeply committed to community engagement in our neighborhood. Giving back is part of our business model.
To navigate the DC zoning of our restaurant, we've created a foundation that donates the proceeds of its memberships to AdMo non-profit community partners.
We work collectively, and we value integrity and grace to bring change to the hospitality industry. We add a 22% service charge to pay a higher hourly wage to our hourly team members.
The 22% allows us to create equality and stability in our industry. We aim to ensure fair, equitable wages and benefits for hourly team members.
Any gratuity added is distributed among all hourly dining room and kitchen team members who help create your dining experience.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for drinking alcohol while at work, and for sexual harassment.

This is a full-time position that requires 40 hours per week. Candidates must be available from 3pm - 12am daily.
