Lifespan Physician Group (LPG), is the largest multi-specialty group of physicians in Rhode Island and teaching partner of Brown University. Our physiatry department has an opening for a board certified or eligible PM&R physician to join our inpatient consult service covering Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital.The details:
Employed opportunity, very competitive compensation incentive bonus
Evaluation or follow up of up to 10 patients per day in the acute hospitals to assess for appropriateness of acute rehabilitation and serve as PM&R ambassador for referring providers in the community and acute hospital
Expectation to engage in academic research and community engagement
Expectation of cross coverage of an acute rehabilitation unit (currently 26 bed) in Newport, RI

Team based approach with hospitalists/nocturnists, advanced practice providers, RN liaisons, floor RNs, social workers, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, case managers and nutritionists
Potential for academic appointment opportunity at Brown University, Warren Alpert Medical school with expected teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students rotating through the unit, as well as scholarly activity and community engagement
Call will be determined based on staffing, no night call
