Rhode Island Hospital, a teaching partner of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and member of the Lifespan Physician Group, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinical or counseling psychologist to join as the Therapist Co-Director of the Partial Hospital Program. The PHP currently provides virtual treatment for patients. However,The Co-director position is an in-person position and will be required to be on site during the clinical day. The Therapist Co-Director is a representative of clinical administrative leadership within the Department of Psychiatry and reports to the Division Director. They work closely with the Psychiatrist Co-Director and Administrative Dyad partner on all administrative, operational, and financial matters.About the Job:
In conjunction with the psychiatrist co-director, lead a dynamic team of therapists and psychiatrists in the Partial Hospital Program (which has a general adult track as well as a young adult track, a trauma focused track and an emotional regulation/ personality disorder track)
Treat adults with a broad range of psychiatric concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD and personality disorders
Use individual & group therapy grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other third-wave behavioral therapies
Option to develop specialty interests
Flexible schedule within program hours (M-F, 8am-2pm)
Position is located in Providence, RI
Clinical caseload of 3 daily individual patients as well as leading one or more therapy groups
Ability to set an outpatient therapy caseload in addition to PHP caseload, if desired
Opportunities for Brown University Clinical Faculty appointments, if desired
Additional research activities if desired
EMR is EPIC
About You:
PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program required
Clinical internship from an APA-accredited program required
Licensed or license-eligible in Rhode Island and Massachusetts
Demonstrated experience in leadership, teaching and administrative skills in behavioral health in an academically oriented health care institution
Experience in Acceptance and Mindfulness-based therapies and/or other third-wave behavioral therapies
Experience with DBT/DBT-PE, personality disorders and trauma/PTSD a plus
