General Summary: The Vice President of Business Development oversees Continuum Care Hospice of Michigan and healthcare providers within the service area with overall responsibilities to 1) provide accurate information regarding CCH services and 2) to disseminate accurate information regarding the Medicare Hospice Benefit and benefits of hospice services for patients experiencing life-limiting illnesses.Relationships:The Vice President of Business Development is a Hospice consultant to the community who provides information about hospice services to long term/skilled care facilities, hospitals and physicians and other community healthcare providers. Ensures excellent relationships with all primary constituencies­ patients and families, employees, hospice members, and the communities we serve. Reports to the Director.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Functions with management to develop a strategic marketing plan for the company.Implements plans towards strategic marking of Continuum Care Hospice's program.Develops modalities toward overcoming competition and establishing CCH as a leader providing hospice services in Northeast Ohio.Ability to communicate information, whether technical or non-technical, to staff members and referral sources in a clear and concise manner.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Possess a comprehensive understanding of hospice services, CCH's position in the market and CCH competition.Understand target markets, including health care contacts and which market strategies may be used to obtain referral sources. Knowledge of community health care related to health care delivery and resources available Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate, and educate others on the qualifications and benefits of hospice services.Ability to research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads and follow through to close and obtain referrals.Strong verbal and written proficiency, including professional proofreading, editing and presentation capabilityExcellent knowledge about marketing principles and client development in a professional service industry setting.Willingness to travel a majority of each work day.Ability to work and interact with internal and external clients professionally.Ability to prioritize and manage many tasks simultaneously and accept accountability for own actions.Ability to face and overcome new challenges faced in the course of work.Fully competent in utilization of computer programs including, Microsoft Outlook,PowerPoint, Excel and Word as well as CRM utilized by program.Ability to follow latest healthcare developments and maintain current information on program competitors.Collaborate with design team to promote community knowledge of program.
