Overview of the StaffAccountant position
Buy side hedge fund. Great opportunity in NYC for 1-2 years accountants looking for professionaladvancement. Excellent benefits, compensation, and perks. The ManagementCompany Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the monthly closeand reporting, accounts receivables/payables, budgets and forecasting processfor the Management Company.
What will be expected of meas Staff Accountant?
- Prepare monthly closingjournal entries and schedules for the company and its foreign subsidiaries.
- Prepare management anddepartment reports of revenue and expenses.
- Correspondence withdepartments on adjustments and variances, and prepare the monthly forecast.
- Assist in the preparation ofthe annual budget, compile data across multiple departments.
- Review vendor invoices forpayment, ensure proper coding and allocations, review accounts receivables andensure payment is received timely.
- Review monthly travel chargesand ensure reimbursable expenses are billed out to third parties and collected.
- Prepare monthly bankreconciliations.
- Track the firm’s fixed assetsinventory and maintain the depreciation database and calculations.
- Prepare supporting materialsfor tax reporting and audits.
- Compile quarterly timesheetsand prepare cost allocations.
- Review and ensure accuracy ofthe general ledger across multiple entities
- Maintain general ledger andfinancial reporter software, upgrades and reporting templates.
What qualifies me for theStaff Accountant position?
- Accounting degree
- Detail oriented and organized
- 1 - 3 years of accounting oraudit experience in the financial services industry.
- Strong computer skills;knowledge of excel macros a plus
