About Kitchens for Good

Kitchens for Good operates social enterprise kitchens that provide culinary job training for the unemployed, while simultaneously transforming cosmetically imperfect produce into nutritious meals for the hungry. This approach addresses the most immediate need of hunger by feeding the food lines, but also helps to shorten the line itself by giving unemployed people the skills they need to become self-sufficient. Through the power of kitchens and cooking, students transform their lives from one of addiction, incarceration, domestic violence, homelessness, and unemployment, to lives of stability,... employment and a brighter future. Ultimately, KFG believes that kitchens can be economic engines for good in their communities. In addition to tackling issues of food waste, hunger and poverty, KFG ensures its own sustainability by building a profitable food enterprise at the core of each of its kitchens. This model creates on-the-job training opportunities for culinary students while generating revenue to reinvest into KFGs programs. Unlike many nonprofits, KFG generates 69% of its budget through social enterprise revenue, thus reducing its reliance on philanthropy. By marrying a strong social mission with years of business and hospitality experience, we deliver meals and catering services that are created with sustainably sourced local ingredients and are handled with the utmost care and attention. Kitchens for Good: Catering and Events has brought the hospitality industrys top professionals together with a shared vision to create unforgettable, first-class events, while reinvesting all profits into creating good jobs and nourishing the community. As we like to say in our kitchen giving back has never tasted so good!. Have an event in mind- give us a call! More
