RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is working with a client in search of a Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer to join their team. This position is direct hire, full time, and 5 days onsite near Grand Central Station New York, NY.
Essential Functions:
* Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer will configure, maintain, monitor, upgrade, and support the VMWare private cloud infrastructure environments
* Configure, maintain, monitor, upgrade, and support Linux and Windows virtual servers including expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Replication, SMB, DFSR, etc.
* Maintain, monitor, upgrade, and support the Institute's network and cyber-security infrastructure
* Manage the Institute's Disaster Recovery plan by ensuring RPO and RTO are achieved, and tape backups are performed
* Recommend improvements that increase system security, reliability, and performance
* Provide Infrastructure Support for multiple developed systems and applications of medium to high complexity ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility
* Provide Support for enterprise applications such as Alfresco, Confluence, SharePoint, and custom developed web applications
* Responsible for deploying and managing security SSL Certificates, MFA Infrastructure, and 802.1X
* As a Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer, you will maintain, manage, and support cyber-security devices, applications, and appliances
* Primary point of contact with the Institute's Security Operations Center (SOC) and manage the relationship
* Perform upgrades, patches and updates to production applications and servers
* Prepare project plans, implementation scheduling, and coordinate new site installations
* Document system and network infrastructure and application processes and configurations
* Attend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion date
* Read and adhere to published ISMS policies and procedures
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus eight years of experience
* VMware, Microsoft Windows, and Cisco Systems certifications desired
* 8 years of hands-on experience deploying, administering, and upgrading Windows and Linux servers in a large IT environment (> 200 servers)
* 8 years of hands-on experience and maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure
* 8 years of hands-on experience deploying, administering, and upgrading Windows 20XX operating systems
* 8 years of hands-on experience deploying, administering, and upgrading Microsoft Active Directory
* 8 years of hands-on experience deploying, administering, and upgrading a VMWare ESXi environments and VMware vSphere
* 5 years of hands-on experience deploying, administering, and upgrading a VMware Horizon View cloud desktop environment
* 3 years of hands-on experience maintaining VMware Horizon View cloud desktop environment
* 2 years of hands-on experience administering public cloud environments
* The ideal candidate must have Windows administration (critical - group policy -DNS, GPOs), VMware (advance level) some Linux (basic to intermediate - we have a separate team that deals with Linux)
* Networking concepts (routers, switches), some basic level of security, MS Exchange (on prem)
* Some scripting experience (PowerShell or PowerCLI)
* Strong security analysis skills and experience with SIEM and Vulnerability Management solutions
* Expert knowledge of VMware in a large environment with strong knowledge of VMware clustering, configuration, and management
* In-depth understanding of network security and access control
* Strong understanding of network routing and switching protocols
* Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, including packet-level traffic analysis
* Demonstrated ability to take on a lead role coordinating projects
* Occasional travel to datacenter and offices, as needed
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
