Katmai is Hiring a Project Manager Near Atlanta, GA

Job Description:

Katmai's Project Manager will provide support to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Health and Human Service (HHS) / Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) / National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) / Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (DCPC). The goals and objectives for the Acceleration of a Cloud-Based Computing Platform (CBCP) for Cancer Surveillance are to:

  • Gather and analyze requirements and develop functional specifications of the CBCP based on priority lists established by the government and agreed-upon timelines
  • Develop cancer registry informatics standards, specifications, technical documentation, and publications relating to domain-specific contract work
  • Provide the government with subject matter expertise for population-based cancer registry operations in the areas of registry operations, data flow, data collection, data editing, quality control, auditing for accuracy/completeness, applicable standards for coding and classification, registry software systems, and cancer staging systems
  • Develop a CBCP development environment intended for real-time, automated reporting to state/central cancer registries (CCRs).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Project Manager resolves and escalates impediments, manages risk, assures value delivery, and drives program level continuous improvement. They play a critical link between multiple scrum teams; facilitating communications, opening the flow of information, and sharing important progress updates to ensure all teams are focused on successful delivery.
  • Develop and manage schedules.
  • Resolve/report issues and manage dependencies and risks across the teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the facilitation of retrospectives quarterly, or more often as needed, to improve backlog management, release train reviews, sprint reviews, or release train coordination and higher-level function.
  • Able to manage and develop System Security Plan, Security Assessment Plan/Report, and POA&M documentation.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Project Management Professional Certification and training
  • Experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project/Program Manager
  • 5 years in software engineering with the technologies listed:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting the development of complex Microsoft Azure, AD, and other Microsoft platforms
  • 5 years of experience in Cloud Computing to include migrations, large scale implementations, and CI/CD.
  • 3 years implementing unit tests or automation frameworks
  • 3 years solution design/documentation and deployment with Azure
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued the Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12) clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Special Skills:

  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate with professional and scientific staff.
  • Clear understanding of project management competencies including the business component.
  • Possesses strong leadership skills that can effectively resolve conflicts, negotiate skills, and ability to direct and manage a large diverse team to meet all deliverables within budget and timeframe.
