Job Summary:
As the Controller, you will oversee all accounting activities in a hands-on capacity, leading the accounting team to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and productivity.
• Establish and supervise Inventory Control procedures.
• Oversee the chart of accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate annual independent financial reviews and collaborate with external CPA firm for annual tax filings.
• Lead the company in preparations for its first independent financial audit.
• Maintain relationships with banks, audit and tax professionals, vendors, and customers.
• Ensure compliance with statutory sales, use, payroll, and property tax reporting requirements.
• Manage Federal, state, and local business and contractor licenses, registrations, and annual report obligations.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Calculate and monitor compliance with financial lender covenants and borrowing power.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Details
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• Public accounting experience with audit background preferred.
• 7 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing accounting operations.
• Preferably experienced in the equipment distribution or construction industry.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate financial information clearly.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Ability to thrive under deadlines and meet deliverables.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to travel occasionally (10% or more).
