We are seeking a Corporate Controller to become an integral part of our team! You will oversee financial activities and personnel as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency. Previous retail operations required.
Job Description:
• Lead the daily operations of the accounting and payroll department.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financials in compliance with GAAP
• Prepare annual budgets as needed
• Prepare reports on cash flow
• Oversee daily cash reconciliation
• Provide analysis of strategic business initiatives and new business opportunities when appropriate
• Assist in the analysis of market trends affecting sales results
• Provide analytical support as requested by executive team
• Develop financial models as needed
• Draft memos and business plan documents for new business opportunities
• Ability to develop, communicate and present analysis and results to leadership team
• Oversee payables to ensure that accounts payable are paid according to terms and in a timely manner
• Oversee receivables to ensure that accounts receivables are collected promptly
• Oversee payroll to ensure that employees are being paid timely and accurately
• Maintain chart of accounts and keep developing as needed
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Work closely with operations to ensure inventory accuracy
• Maintain fixed assets
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare journal entries
• Update forecasts to accurately project revenues, expenses, and cash
• Manage all IRS and tax reporting
• Work closely with executive team to facilitate efficient and effective operations
• Ability to self-develop, and has personal initiative
• Ability to provide recommendations for business processes and tools to support initiatives
• Special projects as assigned
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
• 5 years combined financial/accounting and data analysis experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills - Candidate needs to be highly proficient with Microsoft Office
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and data analysis and reporting skills
• Team player who works in collaboration with other departments
• Demonstrated experience developing and driving KPI's and operational metrics
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, communicate and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to effectively communicate information in a complete and concise manner
• Must have prior management experience that includes training, managing, and mentoring small onsite teams of 2-4
