Vaco has teamed up with a great construction company here in the Phoenix Valley in the search for their next Controller
The ideal candidate will understand WIP and job costing and have Sage 300 experience
In this capacity, you will work closely with the CFO to drive the month-end close process and serve as a mentor for other team members
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will understand WIP and job costing and have Sage 300 experience
In this capacity, you will work closely with the CFO to drive the month-end close process and serve as a mentor for other team members
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily accounting functions, including financial reporting and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial data.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Work with auditors and other external parties to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
- Identify areas for process improvement and make recommendations for increased efficiency and accuracy.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of construction cost accounting experience required, preferably with a medium to large general contractor.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar discipline preferred.
- Experience with Sage 300 Timberline strongly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards.
