Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our esteemed engineering firm. As a Controller, you will be an integral part of the financial leadership team and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's financial operations. This includes overseeing accounts payable and receivable, managing annual and monthly budgets, handling insurance renewals, and utilizing Epicor software. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.
2. Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and reports, identifying and explaining variances to budget and prior year.
3. Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
4. Develop, implement, and maintain the annual and monthly budgets, working closely with department heads and executive management to ensure financial goals are met.
5. Handle all aspects of insurance renewals, including negotiating terms and rates, and ensuring appropriate coverage levels are maintained.
6. Utilize Epicor software to streamline and automate financial processes and procedures.
7. Provide financial leadership and guidance to the manufacturing team, assisting with cost analysis, inventory management, and other financial aspects of manufacturing operations.
8. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations and filings.
9. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
10. Drive continuous improvement in the finance department, implementing new processes and technologies as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or MBA preferred.
2. Minimum of three years of experience in a Controller or similar role within the engineering or manufacturing industry.
3. Proven expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and insurance renewals.
4. Experience with Epicor or similar finance and accounting software.
5. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the organization.
8. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
10. Must possess a high degree of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
11. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
