Description

Purpose:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining the financial wellness and integrity of the organization. This role supervises the accounting department and monitors the daily functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Daily oversight and supervision of accounting team including review of the department’s work.
  • Responsible for daily oversight of accounting operations of the company and ensuring compliance with all financial procedures of the company.
  • Review and distribute daily AR ACH deposits for keying.
  • Monitor / Analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy.
  • Advise management on matters of fiscal procedure and importance for the organization.
  • Works with confidential data, which, if disclosed, might have significant internal effect / external effect.
  • Soft close each month – duties include GL transactions, balance GL accounts, balance bank accounts, promo-reclass.
  • Bank reconciliation daily of main account; monthly of 4 other sub accounts
  • Allocate all payroll and commissions.
  • On-going tracking and month end reporting related to prepaid expenses, vendor spend tracking, vendor discounts.
  • Manage and Audit Certify (expense program)
  • Manage Motus auto reimbursement.
  • Manage concur.
  • 1099 Review annually.
  • 401k and HSA funding for payrolls
  • Monitor credit limits and credit holds for buying customers.
  • Manage the process for sample orders for sales tax.
  • Be a source of knowledge on Traverse for Finance related items.
  • Learn AP & AR duties to assist with questions and issues and serve as backup.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors degree (accounting / finance strongly preferred) with four years to six years related experience

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Above average computer skills including pivot tables
  • Knowledge of US GAAP preferred
  • Familiar with payroll systems, accounting systems and ERP systems
  • Familiarity with Traverse is a plus, but not required
