Our mission is to make biology easier to engineer. Ginkgo is constructing, editing, and redesigning the living world in order to answer the globe's growing challenges in health, energy, food, materials, and more. Our bioengineers make use of an in-house automated foundry for designing and building new organisms.
Pharma Business Development team focuses on exploring the applications of Ginkgo's platform in the therapeutics and vaccines space, and building partnerships that reflect Ginkgo's business objectives. The business development team is an integral part of a cross-functional team, including technical, marketing, deal transaction, IP and legal teams, and Commercial operations that drive collaborations from conception, through negotiation and, ultimately, to signing.
Ginkgo has programs spanning engineering gene therapy capsids to improve transduction, enhance tissue tropism and reduce immunogenicity with Selecta Bio; synthetic biotics for treatment of homocystinuria with Synlogic; enzymatic therapies for orphan and rare diseases with Selecta Bio; gene therapy manufacturing with Biogen; biologics manufacturing platform with Novo Nordisk and small molecules for undruggable targets with Boehringer Ingelheim.
We are building a therapeutic modality agnostic platform through our partnerships and also acquiring relevant capabilities and IP, such as StrideBio's AAV Capsid discovery and engineering platform assets:
"Fierce Biotech: Ginkgo Bioworks doesn't want the biotech industry's therapies. But it does want the platforms that create them".
