Job Options Inc is Hiring a Customer Service Representative Near San Diego, CA

  • Talks with customers by phone or in-person to answer general inquiries regarding the SENTRI
  • (Secure Electronic Network for the Traveler's Rapid Inspection) and Global Entry Program, at the Otay Mesa and San Ysidro Ports of Entry.
  • Performs marketing activities to promote SENTRI and Global Entry Programs; supports goals to increase enrollment.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for all transactions requiring an office visit. Collects fees from applicants and customers.
  • Handles customer service problems concerning the issuance of SENTRI cards, referring a complaint to designated supervisory personnel for investigation.
  • Perform routine replacement of supplies and other operational tasks on office machinery which applies to the clerical work involved.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Schedule: 1:00 pm to 10:30 pm includes weekends/ holidays.

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) Required: High school diploma and two years experience in the use of office automation software; two years experience in an office setting with substantial customer interface; familiar with the use of online databases. Job-related undergraduate study at an accredited technical, business, or trade school or college may be substituted for on-the-job experience. Must be able to type a minimum of 30 wpm. Must be bilingual in Spanish.

Minimum Experience Required: performing this job successfully; an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be a citizen of the United States and be able to pass a federal background check.

Skills Required: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Provides customer service to persons applying for or inquiring about the SENTRI Program, a Federal Government "Trusted Traveler" Program. Handles high volumes of incoming calls, providing program information to the callers and scheduling interviews. Interacts with applicants assisting with participant compliance to program rules and regulations. Enters applicant data into the Federal Government database for processing.
