JELD-WEN is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Klamath Falls, OR

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team.
THE ROLE
The HR Generalist is responsible for the administration of a broad spectrum of duties, including employment, benefits, training, performance management and employee relations. The HR Generalist will also coordinate the efficient delivery of recruitment and onboarding processes mainly to the Components plant.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administers and maintains employee files and HRIS data entry for all hourly employees; processing employment changes to personal information, W4, direct deposit, status changes, demographic changes; ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Monitors and enters time and attendance, audits time entries for paid time off (PTO) points system and audits time exceptions in preparation for payroll.
  • Processes Titan timesheets and ensures all timesheets have been approved by employee, manager, and submitted for payroll.
  • Generates and submits payroll reports to Payroll and Plant Manager.
  • Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for employees. (i.e. general human resource, benefit questions, FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Comp)
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations.
  • Attends and participates in employee relations meetings with all levels of organization to include performance management, discipline, discharge, compliance and documentation.
  • Establish, maintain, and control recruitment relations records, files, correspondence, and related reports.
  • Resolves payroll system discrepancies; provides payroll information by answering questions upon request.
  • Prepares the reporting HR information and data as directed by the HR Manager.
  • Assist with new-hire orientation programs and job fairs.
  • Prepares and assists with all new employee packages (benefits, new hire paperwork, etc.) and conducts all new hire onboarding.
  • Participates in special projects and team initiatives and provides administrative support as assigned such as employee engagement activities, etc.
  • Handles all information in a confidential manner while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Conforms with safety regulations per plant policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
  • Reports unsafe conditions immediately to appropriate supervision.
  • Reception/switchboard backup responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on professional business demeanor, communication, and customer service.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both clients and vendors.
  • Ability to develop and conduct group presentations to employees.
  • Ability remain clam in various situations.
  • Ability to ensure all levels of leadership are in compliance with labor laws.
  • Self-motivation and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Administers and maintains employee files and HRIS data entry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and Word, comfortable with calendar management and email in Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and commitment to accuracy for data entry with timely follow-through.
  • Keen understanding of confidentiality; ability to manage sensitive information with tact and discretion.
  • Prioritization, project coordination and collaboration skills required.
