The Brand Marketing Manager will support the marketing group on all facets of brand and product marketing. They will prosper in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment and enjoy the continuous evolution of the James Hardie brand.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in brand strategy, creative strategy and execution (for both traditional and digital marketing) as well as product marketing specifically for commercializing new product innovations.


What You’ll Do:

The Brand Marketing Manager will manage or perform work across multiple Marketing workstreams including:

  • Product Marketing: Serve as resident expert on products, including their features and benefits and required assets for proper marketing support. Define marketing strategies, plans and messaging based on customer segments, market data, and insights to drive success of new product launches.
  • Brand Management: Assess ongoing business and market needs to steward the James Hardie brand, and to identify strategic opportunities for improvement in the way the James Hardie portfolio of new and existing products are marketed to wide range of trade and homeowner customers.
  • Advertising & Promotion: Create or coordinate the production and distribution of advertising and promotional materials.
  • Marketing Research & Analysis: Gather and analyze marketplace trends and data to guide brand initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Management: Lead and connect multiple groups to create solutions and drive projects forward.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for leading planning and marketing execution of new product commercialization
  • Manage plans and tools to market current portfolio of products
  • Contribute to brand stewardship for the business by enabling and implementing proper branding and tactics across a variety of brand touch points
  • Participate in continuous evolution of the James Hardie brand and helping institutionalize changes across the organization.
  • Track key trends and findings for the industry
  • Participate in prioritization, budgeting, planning and tracking of critical brand projects.
  • Estimated allocation of time 40% strategy development, 60% tactical execution
  • Participate as a key cross functional member working with product development team
  • Establish, build, and maintain relevant internal and external relationships, including internal cross functional teams and external vendor/agency partnerships.
  • Help manage vendor partners and projects to drive ongoing brand direction and alignment.
  • Collaborate with vendor partners, internal graphic design team, and print production manager to design, build, and distribute marketing communications for new product launches.


What You’ll Bring:

  • : Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred)
  • 10 years of successful related business experience, preferably brand management or innovation related
  • Experience in both B2C and B2B marketing / business models
  • Experience with brand management including activating on customer insights, stewarding brand standards and creative, and developing ongoing positioning and guidance with a growing brand portfolio.
  • Experience managing variety of external/internal creative teams/ agencies/vendors is preferred.
  • Experience navigating uncharted territory, creating process or direction for new initiatives not previously established
  • Comfortable monitoring and supporting community management efforts for social channels
  • Experience managing variety of content development and specifically social media channels
  • A curious-minded individual who learns and adapts quickly to new matters and dynamics, leaning in to ask the right questions and be able to understand what is needed to advance a project
  • Strong attention to detail and strong demonstrated project management experience
  • High level of motivation with the ability to operate as an individual and team contributor.
  • Thorough and thoughtful contributor who can manage careful execution and responsible, timely escalations if required
  • Experience managing reporting and using data to drive strategic plans based on insights and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize internal and external resources to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Experience in working cross-functionally with teams such as products, sales, and legal specifically
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills, fostering stakeholder relationships internally & externally including the ability to listen and assess customer needs, prioritize needs/requirements, and communicate them cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Ability to work in the office minimum 3 days/week
