Position: Payroll Manager
Reports To: Vice President, People and Culture

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing and administration. The Payroll Manager’s primary focus will be to ensure accurate and timely payroll operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

• Manage the end-to-end biweekly payroll process, ensuring the accurate calculation of wages, deductions, taxes, and distribution of paychecks and electronic payments.
• Develop and maintain streamlined payroll policies and procedures to improve the payroll process across the portfolio of hotels.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates, in compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Review and reconcile payroll reports promptly, resolving any discrepancies or errors in a timely and efficient manner.\Confirm the accuracy of payroll entries in the general ledger by reviewing and correcting the monthly HRIS interface with the accounting system.
• Oversee the annual payroll calendar to ensure timely payroll processing, including overtime input, calculation of federal and state payroll taxes, bank files, and garnishments.
• Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure accurate recording and reporting of payroll-related transactions and expenses.
• Prepare and submit tax reports and other regulatory filings as necessary.
• Oversee timekeeping systems and processes to ensure accuracy of employee work hours and adherence to company policies.
• Partner with internal and external auditors to facilitate payroll audits and reviews, providing necessary documentation and explanations as needed.
• Identify and recommend software, systems, and procedure updates to enhance payroll processing efficiency.
• Prepare and distribute year-end payroll reports, including W-2 forms and other tax-related documents, in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources-related field, or equivalent work experience - CPP or other relevant certifications is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years payroll experience, with at least 2 as a Payroll Manager or similar role
• Strong working knowledge of multi-state, multi-entity payroll and payroll taxes
• Experience utilizing cloud-based payroll platform
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy required
• Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality, diplomacy and excellent judgment in successfully navigating sensitive issues
