Ipsos is Hiring a Business Development Representative, Channel Performance Near New York, NY

What makes this role important at Ipsos?

Ipsos is hiring a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to support the Business Development (BD) team to continue the exceptional growth of the Channel Performance Service Line. The BDR team will be responsible to engage new and key contacts in target industries for the purpose of setting up initial discovery calls or meetings to enable Ipsos to understand current business challenges or unmet needs that the Channel Performance team can help address. The BDR will be expected to identify and develop a list of key contacts, make regular contact, document those contacts, and cultivate a database of contact activity and competitive intelligence about the marketplace. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Growth for the Service Line, the BDR team member will have an opportunity to meaningfully accelerate our current growth trajectory while also developing a competitive intelligence asset within the business that does not currently exist. 

About this position:

We are looking for a commercially-minded and detail-oriented team member with a strong work ethic who can help us continue our growth trajectory by engaging the marketplace to share unique Ipsos points of view and best practices for the purpose of new client acquisition and revenue creation. You will support our efforts to develop relationships with key contacts at companies in target industries, including retail, restaurant, petro-convenience, technology, financial services, and CPG. We offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in market research and the kinds of business questions that leading organizations need answers to while also being introduced to commercial principles of prospecting and new business development. 

Responsibilities of this position:

Market Research:

  • Conduct on-going research to develop competitor profiles
  • Create two by two matrix of strengths/weaknesses for each product offering
  • Gain and maintain an awareness of target industry drivers and trends so as to identify prospect business challenges and associated new business development opportunities

Database Development:

  • Research companies in assigned target industries
  • Develop a list of business and ancillary contacts within those companies and industries
  • Leverage contact database tools such as ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to capture relevant contact details
  • Maintain a record of all outbound contact activity (emails, calls, LinkedIn messages, etc.)
  • Capture market and competitive intelligence through interactions with key contacts

Content Use and Creation:

  • Identify relevant cross-Service Line content that may resonate with key contacts in target industries
  • Collaborate with Ipsos Marketing to make revisions to content to best suit key contacts
  • Co-create marketing content that uniquely positions Ipsos as an industry leader

Collaboration:

  • Schedule time with Client Success team members to understand the results of quarterly client business reviews and Client Officers to gain knowledge of cross-Service Line engagements
  • Leverage client success stories to shape outbound messaging and value propositions

Prospecting and Appointment Setting:

  • Regularly engage key contacts and other target organization stakeholders
  • Make contact with key stakeholders and provide compelling reasons to schedule time with Ipsos
  • Stay in touch to update key contacts with Ipsos updates and new insights/products
  • Conduct preliminary discovery and qualification work with key stakeholders to ensure client / Ipsos fit
  • Schedule initial discovery calls and produce prospect summary documentation for NBS team members
  • Achieve monthly targets for scheduling net new discovery calls

Documentation:

  • Regularly update sales activity reports and provide inputs to Service Line AoT (acquisition of turnover) reporting and management
  • Support in the update and distribution of sales reports

Compensation

The Business Development Representative team member will earn a base salary of $50,000 and have the opportunity to participate in a variable compensation plan, based on achieving pre-set performance thresholds, that may pay an additional $3,600 per quarter. Annual on target earnings for the position will be $64,400. The performance measures for the role will be as follows:
