Job Description:
The Development Manager role is a full-time position which aims to diversify fundraising and strengthen the engagement of members, donors, and the community in ways that deepen their support and engagement. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Development Manager will implement fundraising plans and communication strategies that build relationships and inspire broad support for the organization. This role is collaborative, working closely with program staff, volunteers and board leadership on organizational campaigns, events, initiatives, and special projects. It’s a dynamic position with a great deal of opportunity for growth and new ideas.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy: In partnership with the Executive Director, develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy in alignment with the organization's mission and goals. This includes leading fundraising strategies related to membership, event sponsorship, individual giving, and new organizational initiatives.
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, members, and other stakeholders through personalized communication, donor recognition, and regular updates on the impact and accomplishments of Illinois Green.
Organizational Marketing and Communications: Work with the Communications and Engagement Manager on the content for internal and organizational communications related to development campaigns and initiatives.
Fundraising and Member Events: Plan, coordinate, and oversee fundraising events and campaigns, including galas, donor appreciation events, member events, and online fundraising campaigns. Ensure events are executed successfully and contribute to revenue goals.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other staff members to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and programs. Provide regular updates on fundraising activities, successes, and challenges.
Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the organization's database. Utilize data analytics to identify trends, track fundraising performance, and inform decision-making.
Team Leadership and Development: Coordinate and mentor volunteer leaders within the organization providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to enhance the Illinois Green’s effectiveness and performance.

Has the ability to gauge and navigate the needs of our audience by working collaboratively with our volunteers and partner organization.
Benefits and Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $75,000. Offers will be made commensurate to experience. Benefits include:
