Our Homewood suites by Hilton in Rochester/ Greece is seeking a passionate hospitality driven Front Office Manager.

Job overview

The Front Office Manager is a key leadership role and is responsible for assisting the General Manager in the successful oversight of hotel operations in accordance to Hilton Standards. Successful oversight includes but is not limited to high quality guest satisfaction, associate engagement, associate retention, financial performance, sales, revenue generation and maximizing profits.

The ideal candidate will have two or more years of Hotel Customer Service experience. * Special consideration will be given to those who exhibit a proven track record of exemplary customer service/sales performance in other business fields with strong leadership abilities, excellent oral and written communication skills, proficient computer skills.*

Job Description:

  • Manages complete operation of Front Office, Night Audit and Food And Beverage Departments and works in conjunction with Executive Housekeeper , Director of Sales and Maintenance Engineer.*
  • Holds and oversees daily employee huddles and team building activities.
  • Reviews daily front office procedures and ensures proper transmission of all necessary information to the home office.*
  • Ensures proper training programs and procedures are in place in conjunction with the General Manager and according to system standards.*
  • Responsible for proper administration of keys.*
  • Responsible for knowing hotel emergency procedures.*
  • Manages inventory and assists General Manager with budget control.*
  • Inspects rooms daily.*
  • Interviews and hires Front Office team members.*
  • Conducts employee discipline with regard to front office personnel.*
  • Ensures proper uniform standards are in place throughout departments.*
  • Accommodates guest special requests.*
  • Responsible for knowing area attractions and services in order to accommodate guest needs.*
  • Responsible for knowing Homewood Suites services and amenities in order to accommodate guest needs.*
  • Reviews room inventory with sales and assist in selling strategies to maximize room revenue.*
  • Monitors tracking of leads and results. Communicates with Director of Sales to ensure that leads are actively managed and followed up on.*
  • Takes ownership of sales when General Manager or Director of Sales is not available.*
  • Assists General Manager in maintaining accounts.*
  • Responsible for helping coach, train and motivate all members of the in-hotel team on their roles in the sales process.*
  • Ensures team member attitudes of attentiveness in meeting guest needs.*
  • Oversees the daily operations of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager.*
  • Responsible for making sure that the brand standards of Hilton are met in each department including housekeeping inspections, maintenance checklists and prepares for quality inspections.*
  • Assists and maintains proper rate strategy through Hilton issued systems.*
  • Coaches the team as needed to ensure they understand the hotels standards.*
  • Fills in for the Housekeeping Manager, Front Office, Breakfast Ambassador, or Maintenance as needed.*
  • Responsible for servicing guest issues through the appropriate channels.*
  • Responsible for maintaining training requirements.*
  • Responsible for bank deposit, cash handling procedures and shift drops.*
  • Run errands as needed.*
  • Attends weekly managers meetings.*
  • Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.*
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.*

Required Schedule and Availability:

Work schedule is based on the needs of the hotel. Must be available to work a various work schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, split shifts, afternoon shifts, overnight shifts.

Responsibilities also include covering all sick calls as needed with 24-hour on-call and availability to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages three to four subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 20 employees in the Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Front Desk and Maintenance Departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises 10 employees (non-supervisory). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities also include covering all sick calls as needed with 24-hour on-call and availability to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
