Executive Housekeeper Job Overview:

Executive Housekeepers are responsible for planning and directing the day-to-day organization and long term operations of the Housekeeping department. Ensures the team cleans and prepares all spaces so they are clean, fully stocked, and in good working order which allows us to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests. Additionally, Executive Housekeepers contribute to the overall safety and security of the hotel by reporting damage, following safety rules, and assisting in emergency situations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Plans and direct the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department.

Assigns rooms to Room Attendants.

Oversee operations of laundry operations.

Assigns special cleaning duties on a daily basis.

Manages master key distribution and with room attendants.

Ensures guest’s special requests are completed appropriately.

Ensures room cleanliness meets standards by conducting daily inspections of all rooms and areas.

Ensures all storage areas are clean and maintained properly.

Establishes processes to ensure communication reaches all shifts.

Reviews and completes weekly department schedule to accommodate hotel’s needs.

Maintain department payroll hours/dollars within budget requirements.

Attract, train, develops and retains a high-performance team; provide encouragement and correction as appropriate.

Oversees all budget and forecasting processes for the housekeeping department.

Focus on quality and service in all areas of housekeeping, ensuring that standard operating procedures are adhered to always.

Ensure health and safety standards are taught and adhered to and must have knowledge of the equipment, chemicals and supplies used.

Monitor consumption and ensure that proper par levels are maintained for all materials needed for rooms division.

Report any damage, mechanical problems, or missing room equipment/items.

Maintain Lost and Found items securely and follow proper documentation and procedures.

Ensure deep cleaning programs are maintained per standards.

Attend manager meetings to ensure department meets the daily, weekly and monthly needs of the hotel.

Qualifications:

Must have a professional, warm, and approachable disposition.

Must be able to successfully prioritize and complete tasks through team members in prescribed timeframe and manage workflow.

Effectively communicate with team members, management team and guests.

Good eye for detail.

Working knowledge of public spaces, rooms and equipment used in housekeeping department.

Fluently read, write and speak English.

At least 1 year of prior housekeeping supervisory experience preferred.

Demonstrated ability to remain level-headed in hectic and tense situations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages the daily operation and supervises the team members of the hotel’s housekeeping and laundry operations, specifically Housekeepers, Housepersons, and Laundry Attendants. Acts as Manager on Duty as required.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a hotel environment, the majority of the work is performed in guest rooms and public space areas. Requires the use of cleaning tools and equipment, cleaning chemicals and manual labor to deliver clean and ready rooms.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Constant physical movement is involved in performing the duties and tasks of a Room Attendant. Frequently position self to clean all zones of the guest room such as the floor, under the bed, behind furniture, and high and low bathroom fixtures throughout the work shift is required. Will transport up to 300 lbs., will position up to 50 lbs. and will move up to 30 lbs.

Mental Demands:

The mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must have mental alertness and be able to comprehend written daily room assignments. Ability to determine when a room meets the cleanliness requirement of the hotel.
