Our firm is hiring for our front desk position! This position must juggle various roles from answering phones, to processing mail and e-discovery, to assisting an attorney with all of her legal work. Ability to multitask and prioritize are key to this position.
Duties include, but are not limited to (training provided):
- Answering a multi-line telephone.
- Transcribing, formatting, and sending correspondence.
- Compiling and organizing medical and legal records, both paper and electronic.
- E-filing with the courts.
- Scheduling appointments and other calendaring matters.
- Scanning and filing.
- New client intake and talking to current clients at direction of attorney.
- General office duties such as opening mail, data entry, scanning, making coffee, and greeting clients.
Requirements:
- Preference is Spanish for the second language, but would also consider Russian or Vietnamese.
- Prior legal/office experience and/or college-level scholastic excellence.
- Experienced in Word and Excel.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Understanding of language and grammar and ability to edit documents.
- Good communication skills and comfort communicating professionally with attorneys, clients, other offices and the courts.
- Ability to work in dynamic and fast paced work environment.
- Ability to take constructive feedback.
- Consistent and punctual attendance during regular work hours; we have only one other employee so it is essential that you be able to come to work as scheduled.
Position details:
- Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (35 hours per week).
- Entry level pay is $23.00 per hour.
- After one year of employment, we will pay the median cost of medical insurance through the Multnomah Bar Association for the individual employee. The employee may purchase additional coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance through the Multnomah Bar Association starting 60 days from date of hire.
- We offer parking pass for the garage attached to our building, paid vacation and sick time, and select paid holidays.
