Hofman Hospitality Group is Hiring a Line Cook Near Torrance, CA

POSITION SUMMARY

The Line Cook prepares the highest quality food per Hof’s Hut exact specifications. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing prep items, making complete dishes, managing food ticket timing, and maintaining an organized, clean, and sanitary work station.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Performs opening/ closing duties while maintaining cleanliness & sanitation throughout shift.
  2. Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to the manager.
  3. Follows all safety and sanitation procedures.
  4. Follows and understands all company procedures and policies.
  5. Completes training of kitchen tools and appliances before use.
  6. Follows MSDS book for proper guidelines for use of chemicals and sanitation products.
  7. Grasping and fine manipulation use of hands is required.
  8. Maintains professional appearance at all times, clean and well groomed as per standards.
  9. Stocks station and checks quality of all products.
  10. Refer to the Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.
  11. Prepares all items needed according to recipe, by using our standard recipe cards.
  12. Prepares food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, steam kettles and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned by the manager.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Basic English reading, comprehension, and communication skills.
  2. Basic math skills.
  3. Knowledge of weights, measurements, and volumes for cooking procedures.
  4. Excellent organization and problem solving skills.
  5. Ability to work effectively within a team.
  6. Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  8. Ability to work quickly in a confined area for an extended period of time.
  9. Must be able to safely and professionally use kitchen equipment, including knives.
  10. Previous experience in Front of House and Back of House food production.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  2. Continuous use of hands and arms.
  3. Continuous reaching, bending, abrupt stopping, stooping, lifting, shaking, stirring, pouring, and carrying.
  4. Ability to be on your feet for an extended period of time.
  5. Ability to work in heated or cooled temperatures for prolonged periods of time.
  6. Ability to move expeditiously around the kitchen and storage areas.
