Position Overview :
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Revenue Accountant to oversee revenue recognition, billing processes, and accounts receivable functions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, revenue recognition standards, and financial analysis, with a focus on driving efficiency and accuracy in revenue-related processes.
Responsibilities :
- Manage revenue recognition processes in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and industry-specific standards.
- Review sales contracts and agreements to ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue and compliance with accounting policies.
- Prepare and analyze revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to resolve billing discrepancies, address customer inquiries, and facilitate timely invoicing and collections.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and proactively follow up on past due accounts to minimize bad debt and optimize cash flow.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of revenue-related financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analyses related to revenue recognition and accounts receivable.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in revenue accounting and accounts receivable functions.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue accounting, accounts receivable, or related role.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and experience applying ASC 606 or other relevant standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
