The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including new hire onboarding, administering benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the end-to-end onboarding process, including conducting new hire orientation, ensuring a great experience for new employees.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff and Helios HR Director.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations when necessary.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, and any other necessary exams and certifications.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. performing periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Manages the performance review process to ensure timely performance evaluations, including distributing and tracking reviews, as well as communicating deadlines to managers and employees.
  • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks, MVRs, and any other necessary employee eligibility verifications.
  • Assists with the planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Acts as an ambassador to promote a positive company culture and championing change initiatives throughout the company.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Assists other departments and employees as necessary.
  • Performs related activities as directed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Helios' compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,000 annually in our lowest geographic market up to $75,000 annually in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Helios compensation may also include annual bonus, commissions, equity, sign-on payments, as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
