Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, National Accounts; the Director of Business Development will be responsible for leading the growth of our MOTOR Insights suite of data products. MOTOR Insights connects to over 30,000 repair shops every day. This role will lead the effort to expand this suite of data into new markets and customer segments. We are targeting leading automotive and heavy-duty service repair chains, aftermarket warranty providers, national franchise repair organizations, national part retailers, part distribution organizations, and leading tire and wheel organizations.. Just to name a few. In this role, you will increase overall revenue generated from the MOTOR Insights suite of data products. Establish strategic partnerships with key players in the automotive and heavy-duty service repair industries. Successfully acquire new clients achieving sales targets and quotas set for new markets and customer segments. Lead the successful onboarding of new clients within the targeted industries with high customer satisfaction and retention rates among clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company's overall growth objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, potential customers, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead the creation of compelling proposals and presentations that showcase the value of our solutions.
  • Negotiate and close high-value contracts with partners and key clients.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders across all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Manage and mentor a team of business development professionals, providing coaching and guidance to optimize performance.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to stay ahead of industry trends and inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure the success of business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and other departments to ensure alignment and drive revenue generation.

Required Skills/Experience 

  • 10 years of experience in business development, ideally in the automotive & technology industries.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and delivering consistent growth.
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales and marketing principles.
  • Deep knowledge of the Automotive Aftermarket, including relevant players, and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with a knack for identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Automotive, technology, and/or data licensing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
