Human Resources Coordinator

THE POSITION

The Human Resources Coordinator will provide support to the Human Resources department and all Hawken School employees. The Human Resources Coordinator will support the Human Resources Manager by providing services for all HR deliverables including benefits, strategic development, employee morale and retention, investigations, legal and administrative requirements, coaching and counseling, and training. This position will play a vital role in creating and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions and timely responses for employee questions or concerns
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager
  • Compile and update employee records, both physical and electronic
  • Support the Human Resources Manager with employee requests related to human resources
  • Schedule and complete fingerprints for new and current faculty and staff
  • Initiate new hire onboarding in our HRIS
  • Conduct New Hire orientation and support onboarding initiatives
  • Ensure legally required postings are up-to-date
  • Assist in the facilitation of annual open enrollment meetings
  • Help with employment contracts, track status, and facilitate communication with appropriate personnel
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual internal audits
  • Assist with collecting information requested for external audits
  • Help facilitate communications regarding compensation, benefits, PTO, and other internal company inquiries

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A desire to learn all facets of Human Resources operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resources, i.e., employee relations, compliance, benefits, etc.
