We are seeking a candidate who is knowledgeable and progressive in applying their technical and project management skills to projects that range from working on new and exciting energy transition projects, developing sustainable and improved supply chains for existing industrial sites, and redeveloping brownfield sites. This person wants to be challenged to continue learning and adjust rapidly to changing conditions easily. You will work within our Industry Market helping our clients with a variety of civil, environmental, supply chain, and permitting projects.
You will directly with clients to define the requirements of a project, help develop innovative solutions to challenging problems, present a project plan that will meet their goals, and then lead a team to successful delivery of the project requirements.
You are able to define the technical requirements and perform management of multi-disciplined projects. This will include exercising client relationships; coordination with Practice areas and leading the technical team; managing project scopes, budgets, and deliverables; and controlling the risk, health and quality on a project.
A solid understanding of multiple technical disciplines is a plus, but not mandatory. Disciplines our projects include are civil, structural, storm water, transportation, surveying, permitting, environmental compliance, etc. There will be coordination with Practice Areas and subcontractors to obtain appropriate resources for the project.
The job generally requires some overtime hours, especially around end-of-month accounting deadlines and when there are overlapping project schedules.
Candidate could work remotely from anywhere in Texas as long as willing to travel to Houston and Corpus Christi as needed.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
A Project Manager (PM) position precedes the Senior Project Manager positions at Hanson. PMs typically manage smaller, less complex, and/or single technical discipline projects and may assist Senior Project Managers with their projects.
A project manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, executing, and controlling/monitoring of the scope of services, budget, schedule, deliverables, and resources to accomplish the project objectives in a profitable manner for Hanson while meeting the clients' objectives for the project. Additionally, the PM' technical ability must be adequate to understand the client's needs, and ensure the various Practice Areas are providing technically defensible deliverables that satisfies those needs.
