G & G Beverage Distributors, Inc. is a proud distributor of beers, craft beers and ciders throughout New Haven, Fairfield, Litchfield County and Hartford County. Based in Wallingford, CT we are seeking a Field Sales Manager to support our Sales Team in Fairfield County.
 G & G is a fast pace, relationship driven business that requires professionalism, sales ability, strong interpersonal skills and dedication.
Fairfield County Field Sales Manager 
Job Summary: As a member of the sales management team, serves as the primary liaison between the customers and G&G, for assigned territories. Provides a street-level perspective on all aspects of the sales process for purposes of planning, reporting, customer satisfaction and trend identification. Supervises assigned Sales Representatives, including training, incentives, performance assessment and standards. Meets frequently with accounts; maintains supplier relationships. Manages promotional activities, including supplier, media and vendor relations. Identifies market opportunities and secures new business. Demonstrates a knowledge of, and a passion for, the beverage business and supports a company culture of high performance.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Based on G&G strategic goals, works with the Sales Manager to establish a yearly sales forecast, by brand and package. Provides input to projecting the growth/decline of brands and the allocation of major brand budgets to goods and services. 
  • Tracks results daily; monitors weekly and monthly plans. Participates in monthly contests. Documents and submits timely reports on sales numbers and related information. Consults with the Sales Manager on issues that are unprecedented or outside normal authority limits.
  • Supervises, supports and trains Sales Representatives. Through regular meetings and riding with the reps, provides training and feedback on sales results, QA, account standards, key sales steps, equipment, collections, product/POS placement, coverage of routes, incentives, promotions, programs and fostering productive relationships. Addresses customer problems as needed; works to help reps create goodwill for G&G in the community. Schedules coverage for vacation and sick time.
  • Responsible for customer and supplier relationships and meets supplier standards. Identifies and solves problems, visits regularly.
  • Assists merchandisers with setting up promotions, maintaining and replacing POS to promote sales, rotating stock, introducing new products and the proper placement, use and maintenance of equipment. 
  • Manages and organizes promotional and program materials (ex: seasonal events, holidays); including TV, radio, newspapers, signs, displays, give aways, including on and off premise promotions. Assists sales reps with executing programs, using supplier resources.
  • Insures that all sales practices conform to company policies, budgets, standards and applicable state and federal laws. Works with internal G&G departments towards workflow efficiencies.
  • Networks to recognize new product lines and opportunities for profitable new brands and suppliers for G&G. 
  • Through daily meetings, prioritize and assign activities. Provide a structured process for planning and documenting merchandiser activities. Ride with the merchandisers; provide guidance and performance feedback on customer service, equipment installations, POS arrangement, resets and pack outs. Monitor merchandiser maintenance of vans and computers.
Experience / Training / Education:
  • 2 years of college; B.S. in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2- 5 years of sales experience; management experience desired.
  • Successful track record of delivering on sales plan, establishing and exceeding quota, identifying talented sales professionals, low turnover and high employee and customer satisfaction.
  • Business acumen, bottom-line orientation and ability to forecast how the short-term operations impact annual financial results.
  • Ability to motivate and lead.
  • Consultative selling skills; ability to create bonds and relationships.
  • Project and time management skills..
  • Innovative, decisive and culturally sensitive.
  • Personal computer skills and familiarity with various communication devices.
  • Strong verbal, written, communication and organizational skills.
  • Clear business ethics.
  • Familiarity with applicable state and federal regulations of the beverage industry.
  • Ability to work effectively with G & G owners, management staff and employees.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to solve problems regarding employees, suppliers, operations and finance.
Position Compensation/Schedule:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
As G & G Beverage Distributors is a growing company with seasonal volume fluctuations, flexibility is required to schedule work hours and vacations around peak work times. Individual must be able to shift priorities, work assignments and if necessary, perform sales, deliveries andclerical work
This is primarily a relationship-building position, which requires both office work and frequent travel. The employee reads technical material, uses a phone and computer, works with data and moves within the complex to confer with other managers, sales, office and operations staff. Sitting, and lifting/carrying material under 150 pounds is required.
